How to Get Perfect Polka Dot Nails

As I re-read my post where I announced my resignation from Gold Canyon, I was reminded of just how crazy busy I was last year, and how dangerously close I can come to that again!

When I discovered Jamberry in November of 2011, I considered adding it as a second business.  I even requested a sample from a consultant in California.  I told a few friends about it, but never did much more research into it.  In January one of those friends sent me this:

If you're like me, that title brings simultaneous emotions of excitement and dread!  I'm always (ALWAYS) happy to create.  And I really enjoy helping my children express their own creativity.  And as a mom, I always tell them their project turned out great!  Even when they used too much glue. :)  I learned a long time ago not to be too critical, not to try to show them too much, not to make too many suggestions.  Once the supplies come out, it's game on!  They just want to go for it!

So, how do you do a project that you are both really proud of?  Here are a few suggestions - and I'd love to hear yours too!

Something to keep in mind this holiday season: You, the customer, are our everything. Spending $100 at a BIG BOX store during the holidays won't make a difference to anyone; but spending $100 through a home business owner for Christmas means our business can continue; it gives us our pay, provides for our families, helps us meet our personal goals, and helps us continue to do what we love without using harsh sales techniques. Goldie's Weekend

I had a busy weekend with Momma and the kids.  It all started Friday night.  We went to a party over at Erica's place.  She's home for the summer from the Czech Republic.  Her friends are great!  Except for this guy:

He kept using these lines like "there's room at the hen house for a big girl like you" and "you light up my life baby".  Ugh, what a pig - I mean, well - you know.

There was also this bunny named Fluffy Cottontail

she kept going on and on about how this pool was nothing compared to the last party at "The Mansion".  She was kinda snobby!

I had lots of deviled eggs - that's not weird.  Is it?

We decided to stop by McDonald's on the way home fro ice cream - Martin wanted a picture with me - how can I refuse a fan?

I finally got a little shut eye before Momma woke me up early to go networking.

I thought this might be an athletic event, or involve arachnids (not my favorite!) but it was just a bunch of nice ladies talking about helping each other with their businesses.

When we came here, I thought we were going to get to go somewhere really exotic, like Fiji, or The Big Apple!  It was only a Camp Sol meeting, but I met lots of nice people!
Then we went to game night with some friends - Momma thought this was funny:

I'm gonna save what I did today for tomorrow's post.  Momma LEFT ME HOME ALONE!  I don't want her to see the pics yet - I was kinda crazy!

What Did I Do Today?

Today I left some dishes dirty,

The bed got made around 3:30.

The diapers soaked a little longer,

The odor grew a little stronger.

The crumbs I spilled the day before

Are staring at me from the floor.

As I read the first day's challenge, I had to giggle - I had already done this last week!  I know that this is perfectly timed for what my family needs from me right now!

Of course we had to put a recycled spin on it - we used outgrown clothes
(scavenged from the to-be-garage-saled box)

We used a mechanical pencil to turn the feathers

While tearing t-shirts into strips to use as stuffing, Calvin felt like Bear Grylls in the dessert.

The one on the left is Jordan's, the one on the right is Calvin's.  They did most of the work themselves!
