Bin Laden before Jehovah

I saw this as a status update on Facebook today:

Bin Laden is standing before God waiting to hear his punishment when God gets a tap on the shoulder. Behind him stand 343 firemen, 72 police officers, 1 K9 officer, 3000 American citizens, and over 5000 soldiers.  "Don't worry God, we got this."
I think it might actually go something like this:

Bin Laden is standing before God, trembling.  He expected to see Allah, instead he sees Jehovah.  He falls to his knees in front of Jesus, seated at God's right hand, and begins to weep.  He remembers the pain he caused, the riots he incited, the lives he extinguished.  He can't even remember it all, but he knows that it is too much - too much to explain away, too  much to be forgiven.

There is something rising from deep inside him.  He has stuffed it down for so long, he barely even recognizes it.  "What is this feeling?" he asks himself through his tears.  "Is it righteousness?  No, I thought it was, but now I see it clearly was not.  Is it anger?  No, that's not it either.  What?  Fear?  Surely not!  Surely the great Bin Laden is not afraid!  But I am."  He falls on his face now and openly sobs.

God looks at him, and even though he is a Just and Righteous Judge, he also is a Loving Father, pained by this man's denial of his heritage.  The angel doesn't even feel the need to check the book of life, but it's his job, so he searches.  While he looks, the Father turns to Jesus.  Jesus has tears in his eyes as he approaches Bin Laden.  He brushes his grey hair away from his eyes, plucking it away where the tears have matted it to his bushy beard.  He sits down in front of him and lifts his chin with a nail-pierced hand.  Bin Laden tries to look away, but is captured by the grace in the eyes of the man, the God, he persecuted.

"It's too much!" Bin Ladin finally gasps.  "I could not have been forgiven, even if I had known."

"No" replies Jesus - his voice on the verge of breaking.  "It's never too much!  I paid it all!  I took your burden, the weight that brought you to your knees - I carried it to the cross.  For you!"

Bin Laden slowly realizes that it is true - his burdens could have been lifted!  He begins to feel something new - respect, love, appreciation!  Then the angel with the book announces "I have searched the records in The Lamb's Book of Life.  I find no entry for Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden.  He suddenly finds himself on his feet again, moving backwards.  "NO!  he screams, but nothing comes out.  He is getting farther away, but he doesn't want to!  He wants to know more, to be closer to God, to Jesus.  He can't explain it, but suddenly the thought of being separated from them seems cruel, wrong - it seems like hell.

"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." ~ 2 Peter 3:9 NAS

  1. Really makes you think. His blood covers everything; murder, hate, cruelty, lies, everything. Let us not forget God's mercy every day and let us remember Jesus' words when taught us to pray...forgive our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us. God forgive me for not sharing grace and mercy for others as you have shown for me. Let this death be used to glorify you, bring your children closer to you, bring more lives to Christ and be a step closer to healing our nation. Let it not be rejoiced in anger and vengance as I know Christ is in mourning over this lost soul.
