Tablescape Thursday & Item of the Week (a twofer!)

I'm running a little behind this week.  Well, actually I'm usually running behind, but this week there's a good reason!  My oldest son is going to Wyoming with his grandparents, so I had to get him ready and deliver him to Abilene (thus the beautiful sunset from yesterday's Wordless Wednesday!)

So, you get a twofer!  First, Tablescape Thursday:

Here is proof that a beautiful table doesn't have to be expensive or difficult!
The theme was music and red roses.  I used my finest china (AKA "Chinette") and clear, disposible silverware.  For a placemat/charger? A 12 x 12 sheet of scrapbook paper with red roses!
The mint green tablecloth and napkins were provided for us, so I took a red rose and thistles, paired it with the napkin and tied it up with rafia (again - very inexpensive!)  I had the photo coasters (they were in my gift closet), so I cut complementary scrapbooking paper (with sheet music) to fit in them (got 6 out of one sheet!)

The topper is a sheet :)
In the middle are musical elements; a vintage xylophone, a vintage cast iron harp music rack (filled with vintage sheet music of course!), a candleabra, crystal vase with flowers and a picture of my "Nanny".  My mom and I first did a table with this theme when I was a child.  My grandmother's church had a mother-daughter banquet with a contest for table decorations.  We won :)

How can you go wrong with fresh red roses?  Especially paired with thistles!

I hope you enjoyed my Tablescape Thursday!  Care to stick around for my item of the week?

3 of my [ReDeemed] Washers embelished with the hymn "He Leadeth Me", hand-tinted in pale green and gold, then stamped with a beautiful flourish. Hand-tied with leather cord and finished with an adjustable chain necklace. $53.00  Custom orders available with favorite hymns and colors!

Perhaps this inspires you?  If so, you might consider entering my contest - you could get it for free!

Are you still there?  Good, I almost forgot!  If you liked the cast iron harp music holder - I found a similar one at Mayeeden's Booth at Bonanzle

It's only $35.00!  Last time I saw one in a shop it was $80.00 (so you'll have plenty of extra moola to fill it with vintage sheet music!)

Silver Sunday, number 1

Welcome to the very first Silver Sunday Blog Party, hosted by Beth at Gypsy Fish Journal!

I'm late to the party, and completely undressed!  It's like one of those nightmares where you show up and you're naked, only you are the last one to know!

So, I'm stalling and scrambling... but here are my contributions!

Custom memorial piece for a client's coworker who passed away before Christmas. The angel is [ReDeemed] from a keychain, the charm at the bottom is a formerly lonely sterling silver earring. The framed art is a hand-tinted hymnal page "Onward Christian Soldiers" with a heart and swirls, reverse has the initial of the young woman who passed away. (SOLD)

Silver Cross: Features hand-tinted cross set on a hand-tinted antique hymnal page (a blank one from the back). In a discarded (but beautiful) silver frame - tabletop or hanging display. apx. 9'x9' (SOLD)

"Amazing Grace" 2" square glass pendant, silver-tone frame. The background is a hand-tinted vintage hymnal page with hand-tinted heart and die-cut cross and swirls. The reverse features more of the hymn and a hand-stamped heart with die cut swirls. Attached to a leather cord embelished with [ReDeemed] silver beads from a vintage necklace, apx. 18"
(SEE - I did have some vintage silver in here!) (SOLD)

My Spring Line

Happy New Year!

I can't wait to get back in the studio and get started on my Spring line! I'm so inspired by vintage jewlery, hymns, crosses, florals and so much more!  I can hardly sleep for all the ideas in my head! I have many custom pieces coming up too - be on the lookout!

I'll be taking these crosses from Shepherds Haven and making necklaces and wall art.

I'll be doing some beautiful Scrabble bracelets, necklaces and earrings
(can't even tell they're Scrabble tiles, huh?)

I'm also doing vintage assemblage necklaces - I finished my first one and took it for a test drive - in 4 hours I got more compliments than on any other piece - I can't wait to show it to you!

I'm also doing more and more memorial pieces like this one:

On the home decor side I'm inspired by vintage sheet music - the more romantic the better!  I'll be unvieling several new pieces in time for Valentine's day!

1907 "Scarf Dance" vintage sheet music

I'm also designing some memory boxes from wooden boxes, cigar boxes and other "found" objects - These should be ready soon, but definately in time for Mother's Day - many will even have Mothers-themed hymns on them!

I'm planning a semi-pro photo shoot in late January, early February before I get into full-swing show season.  In the mean-time, I'm doing my 2 favorite things: Junkin' and Creatin'  Speaking of Junkin' - many of my friends are in the cleaning mood (for reasons unknown!) and have asked me what I "need".  Here's the list I put together:
